Its finally here, Christmas in August!!! Its Travers day!!! I can’t be much more excited than I currently am and I have a contrarian late P3 that I really like. I’m going to try and get around one or both of the favorites in the sequence so if this chalks out we get our money back and if I get around both it will return a Miata.

Race 9 – #1 Mrs. Sippy is the logical here and I want the most of her along with a bunch of last years winner #7 Fools Gold. I made Beau Belle a B just in case she gets loose and speed carries like it did yesterday. I grabbed the rest of the runners as C’s more for defense than anything.

Race 10 – #5 Gamine will be a single on a huge number of tickets and I want to beat her. I’m using #3 Mrs. Danvers and #6 Venetian Harbor. Logic here is that Venetian Harbor might be able to press her early and we don’t know what happens to Gamine if this is the case. Mrs. Danvers is the closer I want although she probably needs it to completely fall apart for her to get there. I am using Gamine as a B, she probably wins this 80% of the time but I’m OK going in knowing that as potential payouts beating her would be massively outsized.

Race 11 – #6 Tiz the Law is the horse after winning the Travers but he faces the “wise guy” Baffert in #3 Uncle Chuck. I made the Belmont winner a lone A here but used a bunch of others as B’s including Uncle Chuck, #4 Max Player, #7 Caracoro and #8 South Bend. I know I’m fishing here but am OK doing it knowing that the Travers historically is won by a price.
