KEE Turf P3 (10/28/23)

(Updated post Scratches – Plays have been converted from A/C to A/B structure.)

My attempt to be more active on the website started out with a hell of a bang last weekend where we parlayed $84 into $2622.30 by getting live to a massive price in the final leg. I found the sequence for this coming Saturday equally challenging, with a nice stakes race in the middle of a tough Allowance and an almost impossible Maiden race. My plan before scratches is to use an A/C strategy which is the classic ‘saver’ ticket approach but may go A/B if scratches allow without inflating cost too much. If you would like a little more coverage with the A/B approach then message me on Discord (Pakratt99) or Twitter (Two_Turns) and I’ll make those plays public. With that said, let’s see if we can repeat the magic in the Saturday October 28th rendition:

Race #5: I’ll start off this sequence by fading the likely favorite in #9 Clever Thought who gets class relief and a jock upgrade but I wounder if that killer instinct is really there after he finished 2nd twice vs softer company and was then thrown in way over his head at KD. My top play is #3 Spirit Maker who ships east for the capable albeit cold Saffie barn and we’ve seen CA invaders do very well so far this meet. His Tfus figures tower over this group and he should get a solid pace up front to run into. I also want some coverage to #4 Horace Mann, and #11 Truly Quality.

Race #8: #1 Talk of the Nation is your 2nd choice on the morning line but probably takes a ton of money with the scratch of #9 More Than Looks. He should be controlling speed here and I can think of no other jock I want up in the US on that type than Jose Ortiz and Shug being red hot adds to the appeal. I did like two prices in the #6 Runaway Storm and #8 Santorini, both have races which fit with the top two and you’ll get huge value if either were to win.

Race #10: This maiden race is amazingly competitive with no outright standout. My top top three selections being #5 Deadpan, #11 Vivaldi and #12 Mo Caliente. If you twisted my arm, top selection would be Deadpan who showed speed on debut at Colonial and often times those types carry that speed better 2nd time, although none of my top three would be a suprise. All three are lightly raced from high percentage barns and have every right to take a step forward late in their three year old campaigns. I also want some coverage to #1 Trikari, #4 Time Song, and #8 Act of Mutiny.
