It finally happened. We let the closer stay in the race too long and Mark has leapfrogged Josh and Caleb to take the lead with a nice $16.80 winner yesterday.

Race 8 – #8 Vitaemi: After a somewhat slow start to the meet, the Jacobson barn has been 8 for 27 over the last 3 weeks with a $4.49 ROI. Irad gets off, but for Jacobson this might be a good thing as Manny has 4 wins from 5 mounts for this barn in that same 3 week period with a gaudy $16.38 ROI. She returns up a class rung but in what feels like a softer spot as those early low end claiming ranks can be tough. Although she faded a bit in the lane last time, so the cutback also adds to the appeal. There is some potential for rain, and she is perfect across an off track, but even without it, she looms the one to beat albeit at a short price.
Caleb @CalebWVU
Race 6 – #5 Sosua Summer: the short priced coupled entry doesn’t do much for me here, as Artemus Citylimits appears to have lost a step and Oxymore hasn’t been seen since his two year old season and needs to improve quite a bit. Sosua Summer is exiting an extremely fast race last out, earning one of the highest speed figures in the field for his win July 27th. While He’s only 2/17 lifetime, he’s a perfect 2/2 over this 5.5f Saratoga turf course. He is very tactical and should be able to work out a stalking mid pack trip behind the contested pace. Rosario hops off but Tyler has been red hot lately so I’m not too worried about the change.
Josh @CherryDrank
Race 8 – #1 Timed Out: The #1 Timed Out ships in from Finger Lakes in very good form in his first start for trainer James Ferraro. With two front-runners entered in this race, I think it could set up nicely for Javier Castellano to sit just off the pace and make a winning move. Short-priced favorite, #2 To a T, seems to hate to win and might just be a pack animal. Watch out for #7 Meraviglioso who plots out well on Optix and could be a factor if the #1 Timed Out doesn’t fire.
