Unfortunately, Mark got scratched out yesterday and Caleb and Josh struck out. Caleb still holds a healthy lead over Josh.

Race 4 – #2 Liberty Flame: Perhaps I’m just channeling my inner Josh here, but this race looks ripe for some cheap speed. Liberty Flame projects to get an easy lead in this race, as there does not appear to be much early pace signed on. I think this filly will get ignored at the window due to low profile connections, but she has been pretty effective when running at realistic levels. She trounced a cheap field of claimers last out, and she didn’t embarrass herself in her prior two when running at distances that are likely just too far for her. She clearly did not handle an off track three back, but if you focus purely on her fast track dirt sprints then her form improves significantly. I may call an audible if the track comes up with any more moisture than “good”, but I think she offers great value at morning line to steal this race up front.

Race 4 – #2 Liberty Flame: The 2-1 ML favorite in this race, #7 Obrigada, ran up the track last time out and while her best race wins here, I’m going in another direction with #2 Liberty Flame. Both Optix and TimeformUS agree that there is not much pace in here and have the horse as the clear front-runner. Keeps Omar Moreno aboard who is an aggressive apprentice jockey and knows how to get a horse out on the lead. Stepping up in class here, but the figs seem to fit this race. #2 Liberty Flame is 8-1 on the ML and should provide value with a favorite I think will be overbet.

Race 7 – #11 Jerry the Nipper: He’s a really cool horse who has been super versatile throughout his career with wins on both dirt and turf along with multiple distances. He shows up in good form here, has tactical speed to be involved early and his recent figures fit very well with this groups. After almost taking down a couple of state bred black type stakes he’s getting a good bit of class relief here and should be a major player in a very nice betting race.
