We went 2 for 3 yesterday! Caleb picked up a nice $16.00 winner with Into Happiness and Josh got a Three Cherry Special with Sea Cottage. Mark will promise to do better.

On to Friday!

Race 8 – #3 Cees Get Degrees – Let’s keep the Three Cherry Special train rolling with the 3 horse in Race 8. This looks to be the speed of the speed. Lone E horse on Brisnet and plots out as controlling speed on Optix as a Q1 circle. Good form on the off going with a 3-1-2-0 record including a top 103 Brisnet speed figure in the sloppy going.

Race 4 – #2 Unsung Melody – I have serious doubts about the two Chad Brown runners entered here who are likely to attract all of the money, so I’m pivoting to the Kentucky invader. Unsung Melody ran a great race last out at Ellis, recording the fastest last out speed figure in the field. Luis Saez gets the call, and although he’s been cold, it’s hard to find many jockeys better than him on a speed horse. The distance is a question for this filly, but she’s proven over an off track and should have a significant pace advantage in this field.

Race 1 – #4 Book of Wisdom – After an amazing opening day with gorgeous weather, the skies opened up with a torrential downpour around 6pm and my house is still without power with no restoration time in sight. It rained on and off all night, and we all know what that means, its Tommy time baby!!! For those new to the vernacular, Tommie’s, also known as Tomlinson figures are a pedigree analysis tool printed on DRF PP’s which show how a horse should handle the off going. Given I expect it to be wetter early, I landed on Book of Wisdom in the first race. Now normally taking a Bill Mott firster is a horrible play, but he’s the one horse in the field with good Tomlinson figures and Mott actually does well with his firsters at Saratoga, especially in the early part of the meet.
